24 Hour "Award Winning" Service

Having Problems?  Try this first:

1.
Be sure that your thermostat is on and is properly set to “heat” or “cool”.
2. Make sure the electrical shut-off switch on the side of the furnace is on.
3. Check the breaker box for a tripped breaker. A gas furnace will be a single 15- or 20-amp breaker and the air conditioner or heat pump breaker will be a double-pole breaker. If the breaker is tripped, try resetting it and if it flips back off, DO NOT KEEP TRYING TO RESET IT. Call us immediately.
4. Make sure the gas furnace blower door (the lower panel on the front of a gas furnace in a basement) is tight to the cabinet. All modern furnace blower compartments have electrical interlock switches which shut the power off to the furnace if the blower door is not secured tight.
5. If you have a high-efficiency furnace that uses PVC (plastic) exhaust and combustion air pipes, check the openings on the pipes for foreign matter that may be stopping air flow.
6. If your air conditioner fan blade is not spinning, use a paint stirrer (never your finger) and try spinning the blade. If the fan blade does not freely spin, the motor is most likely bad and will need to be replaced by one of our technicians.
7. If you smell gas, do not turn on any light switches. Immediately leave the house and call the gas utility company.
