Celebrates One Year Anniversary

One year ago, Vance and Lori Rhead, veterans in the HVAC industry, decided to open their doors once again with an air conditioning and heating business focusing on personalized customer service. The Rheads took their combined 40 years of knowledge and experience in the HVAC industry and started Mountain Air Conditioning and Heating.

Lori Rhead grew up in the HVAC industry. Her father, Roger Barlow, founded Barlow Wasatch Furnace Company in 1954. In 1980, Lori’s husband, Vance, began working at the Barlow Company and Lori joined the company in 1989. In June of 1993, Lori and Vance bought the company from her father and in 1999, they sold it to Lennox Industries which later became Barlow Service Experts. Vance remained as the General Manager until fall of 2008.

They had become increasingly uncomfortable with the new, corporate environment and envisioned a locally-owned business which would hearken back to an era of personalized customer service (hence their website address (www.serviceisback.com). Continuing a family tradition, they pride themselves on being local and community oriented. At Mountain Air, they always answer their phones personally (no out of town answering service) and strive to create relationships of trust with their customers. “The whole reason we started Mountain Air”, said Vance Rhead, “was to genuinely take care of our customers and our co-workers. Ultimately, business is about people.”

“When people need help, we want them to know they can rely on us,” said Lori. “We will respond with 24-hour emergency service. If our first year is any indication,” Lori added, “I think we’re going to do just fine.” In celebration of their first anniversary, Mountain Air is returning to their very first customers’ home, Thomas and Eleanor Enright, to give them a free furnace tune-up.

Mountain Air Conditioning and Heating is located at 1805 West Riverdale Rd. in Roy, Utah and provides 24-hour heating and cooling service for Weber, Davis and Morgan Counties.
